Drums and Percussion

Although I did not start playing drums until I was around 21, I had become
interested in playing when I was around 15. It was during this timein
the early 70'sthat I immersed myself in the Progressive music of Yes,
Genesis, ELP, Jethro Tull, Rush, and King Crimson, among others. During those
days I also listened to some of the more mainstream rock like the Beatles,
Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Grand Funk Railroad, Steely Dan
and many others. I loved the styling of drummers like Bill Bruford, Alan
White, Phil Collins, Neil Peart, and Carl Palmer, to name a few. Jazz drummers
like Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham, and Dave Weckl also got my attention. As a
self-taught drummer, I feel fortunate to have played drums with a lot of
very talented musicians over the years. My current work with Forever Twelve
has probably been the most challenging and rewarding. I've recorded and played
many years with a Ludwig Super Classic Series set. However, I'm currently
playing a Yamaha Maple Custom kit with mostly Zildjian cymbals and assorted
Tama, Yamaha, and Ludwig hardware.
